100% Grenache from small parcels of premium bush vine grapes in McLaren Vale, South Australia. The Tithing is produced only in the best vintages.
Fruit is hand-picked to ensure exceptional quality. Open fermenters are used in conjunction with hot ferment temperatures and regular pump-overs and plunging to allow optimum extraction at the beginning of ferment; this regime is lessened towards the end of ferment. Timely pressing, only using the best press fractions, creates quality of flavour and structure. Matured in older French oak hogsheads for 9 months.
A concentrated, rich and complex wine. Intense cherry and strawberry notes with powerful savoury overtones put this 'old vine' Grenache at the serious quality end of the spectrum. Ripe, persistent tannins and a long fruit driven palate add to the intensity.
