90% Malbec and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon from Montes' own vineyards in Apalta and Marchigüe, arguably two of the finest sites in the Colchagua Valley.
Grapes were cold soaked for 5 days before fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for 12 days. The juice then spent time on its skins to develop structure and colour. After malolactic fermentation 60% of the final blend was aged in one-third new French oak barrels for 12 months to add complexity and roundness.
Black and red fruits on the nose, with hints of chocolate and pepper. The Apalta vineyard component brings ripe blackfruits with round tannins, while the Marchigue vineyard component brings elegant notes of violets and red fruits.
