90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot from Montes‘ own vineyards in Apalta and Marchigüe, arguably two of the finest sites in the Colchagua Valley.
Grapes were cold soaked at 10ºC for 5 days to extract aroma and colour. Fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for 12 days then kept on skins to give structure and colour. After malolactic fermentation, 55% of the final blend was aged in French oak barrels (1/3 new) for 12 months to add complexity and roundness.
Excellent intensity with aromas of blackcurrants, black pepper, violets and cigar box. The palate is complex and concentrated with firm yet fine tannins, racy acidity and a lingering finish.
