100% Shiraz from the Lopresti vineyard, specifically the Chinese Block, located in the Willunga district at the southern end of McLaren Vale, South Australia.
Each parcel was fermented on the skins for 10 days at cool and warm temperatures. The lower temperature helped make the finished wine more approachable and the higher temperature gave more structure. Underwent partial barrel fermentation and natural malolactic fermentation before racking. Aged in fine grained oak, predominantly hogsheads, for 18 months.
Black cherry, plum, subtle mint characters and chocolate with distinct notes of malt, cedar and clove. Bright blackberry and plum on the palate with quality oak flavours of mocha and vanilla. Soft tannins and deep flavours continue on the long finish.
