91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot from vineyards located to the east of Calon Ségur near the village of St. Estèphe in the region of Bordeaux.
The average vine age of this wine is 35 years old and the blend is made in the traditional manner, spending 18 months in 40% new oak barriques.
A rich tapestry of dark red and blue fruits, violets, menthol and spices flow across the palate in a pretty, fruit-driven wine with plenty of near-term appeal. It shows lovely density for the year and terrific overall balance with great cellaring potential.
