100% Pinot Noir from By Farr's Sangreal vineyard, their oldest planted vineyard, in the Geelong region of Victoria.
Sangreal is made with 70% whole bunch fermentation, in a 5 tonne oak open top fermenter. Cold soaked for 4 days before a natural Racked once after malolactic fermentation, sulphured and then bottled after a period of 18 months in 60% new oak, unfined and unfiltered.
Strong purple in colour. Fine, well-integrated fruit of highly complex dark berries and subtle oak influence. The essence is perfumed with savoury notes on the palate, showing strong weight, great length and depth, yet seamless in its delivery from front to back. A very gamey and moreish style of Pinot Noir that packs a punch with great softness and grace.
